History of UPA TIK

Background

The Information and Communication Technology Academic Support Unit of Universitas Riau has continued to evolve in line with the growing need for campus digital services that are stable, secure, and integrated.

From originally serving as a computer service center, this unit has transformed into a key driver of digital transformation that supports academic systems, network infrastructure, and technology services for the academic community.

This journey reflects Universitas Riau’s commitment to building a smart campus ecosystem that is effective, adaptive, and oriented toward user convenience.

Development and Strategic Role

UPA TIK serves as the main hub for Universitas Riau’s digital services, ranging from infrastructure and academic systems to campus operational technical support.

This role is increasingly important in ensuring that the university’s digital services operate reliably, securely, and in a fully connected manner.
