UPA TIK Universitas Riau

The Information and Communication Technology Support Unit of Universitas Riau (UPA TIK UNRI) organized a Training and Socialization activity entitled “Optimizing Microsoft 365 for Productivity and Academic Collaboration within Universitas Riau” on January 29, 2026, at the Integrated Classroom, Kampar Room. The activity was attended by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems of Universitas Riau, Dr. Ir. Sofyan Husein Siregar, M.Phil, as well as the Head of UPA TIK Universitas Riau, Dr. Ibnu Daqiqil Id, S.Kom., M.T.I., Ph.D. This activity was carried out in collaboration with Quadra Luminari as the partner, with Rakhmadi Irfansyah serving as the speaker and also being part of the partner team in supporting the strengthening of digital service utilization at Universitas Riau.

This activity aimed to encourage the more optimal use of Microsoft 365 in supporting academic and non-academic activities, both in terms of individual productivity and inter-unit collaboration. Through this training, participants were expected to understand practical ways to use Microsoft 365 to accelerate work processes, improve coordination, and strengthen communication in carrying out daily tasks within the university environment.

During the presentation session, participants were introduced to various services available in Microsoft 365 that support modern work practices, such as collaborative document creation, meeting management and team communication, as well as work schedule organization. The use of cloud-based services was also a key focus, as it enables documents and work activities to be accessed from various devices, making work more flexible while remaining well-organized.

In addition, this training also introduced the latest developments in Microsoft 365 services that are integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. AI features such as Microsoft Copilot were explained as a form of support to enhance productivity, for example by helping summarize meetings, refine draft documents, create presentation outlines, and assist users in finding information more quickly based on work needs. With proper use of AI, work processes can become more efficient without reducing accuracy and quality.

The training also emphasized the importance of using university service accounts securely and responsibly. Participants were reminded to maintain access security, manage data properly, and develop neat digital work habits so that the university’s information systems remain protected and can be utilized sustainably.

Through this activity, Universitas Riau reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening information technology services as the foundation of a modern campus. With the support of university leadership, UPA TIK UNRI, and collaboration with Quadra Luminari as the partner, this training is expected to become a concrete step toward a more productive, collaborative, and adaptive digital work culture in response to the continuously evolving needs of higher education.
