Universitas Riau’s commitment to delivering reliable and sustainable digital services continues to be realized through concrete actions. One of these initiatives is carried out by the Academic Support Unit for Information and Communication Technology of Universitas Riau (UPA TIK UNRI), which conducted a server collocation migration as part of efforts to strengthen the university’s information technology infrastructure. This strategic activity was implemented by the Technical Team of UPA TIK UNRI from December 29, 2025, to January 2, 2026.
This server migration was not merely a technical task, but also reflected Universitas Riau’s strong commitment to addressing the evolving challenges of digital transformation. Along with the transition to a new Internet Service Provider (ISP) used by the university, adjustments to the ICT infrastructure became an essential step to ensure that all digital services continue to operate optimally, securely, and responsively in meeting the needs of the academic community.
In its implementation, the migration process was carried out in a planned and phased manner, taking into careful consideration the continuity of services. The Technical Team of UPA TIK UNRI worked with high levels of caution and coordination to ensure that each stage proceeded according to plan. Although maintenance activities and system adjustments were necessary, the well-chosen implementation schedule allowed potential service disruptions within Universitas Riau to be minimized. As a result of thorough planning, both academic and non-academic information systems remained accessible and functioned properly throughout the process.
This initiative forms part of Universitas Riau’s long-term strategy to enhance network stability, strengthen data security, and optimize the performance of information technology services. A more reliable infrastructure is expected to support a wide range of campus activities, including learning processes, research, and increasingly digital-based administrative services.
Through this server collocation migration, UPA TIK UNRI reaffirms its role as the leading force in managing and developing information technology within Universitas Riau.
