tik.unri.ac.id — In 2023, the Information and Communication Technology Technical Implementation Unit (UPT TIK) of the University of Riau organized a capacity building event in Harau, West Sumatra, from October 27 to 29, 2023. The activities included a Family Gathering for all UPT TIK UNRI staff and a training session titled "Facilitating People to Learn and Grow," delivered by Sirajuddin, S.Pd, CF.NLP, C.ET.
The entire UPT TIK University of Riau community and the training facilitator departed from Pekanbaru at 7:00 AM on October 27, 2023, arriving at the accommodation site in Harau, West Sumatra, by midday to begin the scheduled activities. On the second day, the "Facilitating People to Learn and Grow" training session was held, with Sirajuddin, S.Pd, CF.NLP, C.ET, serving as the trainer.
The training session was officially opened by Dr. Iswadi Hasyim Rosma, ST, MT, PhD, Head of UPT TIK University of Riau. In his opening remarks, he expressed hope that this capacity building activity would strengthen the bonds among the UPT TIK UNRI family and enhance staff knowledge on facilitating learning and growth.
The training began with material focused on the mindset of a leader. "A leader’s mindset is actually very simple, but extremely important. It includes gratitude, self-confidence, and a big-hearted spirit," explained Sirajuddin during the session. He also emphasized the critical importance of ethics within a team.
Following this, Sirajuddin continued with a session on public communication, highlighting how important and challenging public speaking can be. "Public speaking is not just something we learn; it must be continuously practiced. Therefore, whenever you have the chance to speak in public, embrace it with joy, as it will steadily improve your skills," he advised.
On the final day, all UPT TIK staff participated in a Family Gathering event in the surrounding areas of West Sumatra before returning to Pekanbaru.
