Universitas Riau marked its 63rd Anniversary on October 13, 2025, with an important milestone in its digital transformation journey: the launching of SANDI (Authentication and Diploma Digitalization System), a strategic innovation developed by UPA TIK Universitas Riau. The launching ceremony was officially opened by the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., together with the Head of UPA TIK Universitas Riau, Ibnu Daqiqil Id, S.Kom., M.T.I., Ph.D., symbolizing the institution’s commitment to strengthening a more secure, effective, and trustworthy academic governance system.
The launching of SANDI is part of the major theme of this year’s Anniversary, “63 Years of UNRI Impacting the Nation.” In line with this theme, SANDI is not merely a technical upgrade, but a transformational step that reinforces Universitas Riau’s role in delivering innovations that provide real added value for students, alumni, and the wider community. This system ensures that every Universitas Riau diploma is digitally managed and verified, equipped with a QR Code, and validated through integration with Peruri as the official state document authentication institution.
In a rapidly evolving digital era, the need for authenticity and security of academic documents has become increasingly urgent. Through SANDI, Universitas Riau ensures that the issuance, storage, and verification of diplomas take place more efficiently, transparently, and securely. This digitalization supports the principle of paperless administration, enhances the credibility of academic documents, and accelerates the validation process for both internal users and external parties such as industry and professional institutions.
The launching of SANDI also reflects the working principles of UPA TIK, which have long guided its service delivery.
